Who we are

Klarity of Mind is operated by West England Company Pte Ltd, a company registered in Singapore (UEN: 202102012Z) at #12-07 Suntec Tower One, 7 Temasek Boulevard, Singapore 038987. Contact us at hello@klarityofmind.com.

What this policy covers

This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what your rights are. It applies to everyone who visits klarityofmind.com, uses any feature of Klarity of Mind — including free features that do not require an account — or contacts us, regardless of where you are located.

We comply with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and applicable privacy laws in other jurisdictions.

What data we collect and why

Account data
When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, those providers share limited profile data (typically your name and email) with our authentication provider, Clerk. We use this data to create and secure your account and to deliver the service.

Purchase and payment data
Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, who acts as merchant of record. We do not see or store your card details. We receive confirmation of your purchase, the amount paid, and your email address, which we use to grant access and maintain records as required by Singapore accounting regulations.

AI tutor and learning features
When you use the Klarity Tutor, Learning Diagnosis, Feynman Scorer, module chat, or lesson assistant features, the text you type — and any images you upload in the tutor — is sent to third-party AI model providers to generate a response.

We route AI requests between model providers based on the feature being used, performance, and cost. Our current approved providers are Google (Gemini models), Anthropic (Claude models), and OpenAI (GPT models). We reserve the right to change which provider handles a given request between these approved providers at any time, based on factors including price, performance, and availability, without prior notice — since the data handling principles are equivalent across providers.

If we add a provider outside this list that processes different categories of your data, we will update this policy and notify registered users before the change takes effect.

We do not send your name, email address, or account identifiers to any model provider — only the content of your messages and the educational context needed to generate a response.

The content of your messages may be processed and retained by those providers under their own terms and privacy policies.

Some AI features — specifically the module 0 learning coach, the Feynman Scorer, and the lesson assistant — are accessible without an account. If you use these features without signing in, the text you submit is still sent to our model providers. No account identifier is attached, but the content itself is transmitted.

Tutor session data — including the subject, mode, and full conversation history — is stored securely in our database (Vercel KV) associated with your user account for up to 90 days from the last activity in that session. After 90 days of inactivity, sessions are automatically deleted.

Voice features
If you use Talk mode in the Klarity Tutor, your voice is captured by your browser and processed by your device's speech recognition service before reaching our servers. On Chrome and most Android browsers, this uses Google's speech recognition service. On Safari and iOS, this uses Apple's speech service. Neither Klarity of Mind nor our servers receive or store raw audio — only the text transcript produced by your browser's speech service is sent to our servers and processed like any other typed message. We do not control the data handling of your browser's speech service; please refer to Google's or Apple's privacy policies as applicable.

Learning profile
If you complete the AI Learning Diagnosis, your reflection answers are sent to our AI model provider to generate a personalised learning profile. This profile — which includes your identified learning gaps, recommended study approach, and subject context — is stored in your account record. You can request deletion of your learning profile at any time by contacting us.

Analytics data
With your consent, we collect anonymised usage data via Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics. No personally identifiable information is included in these analytics.

Advertising data
We use the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API to measure how our advertising performs and to understand which ads lead to purchases.

Purchase conversion measurement:When you complete a purchase, we send hashed identifiers (your email address hashed with SHA-256 and your account ID) to Meta's servers via our server-side Conversions API. This happens regardless of your cookie preferences because we process it on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding the commercial performance of our advertising. We do not use this data to show you personalised ads — it is used solely to measure whether our ads resulted in purchases.

Advertising personalisation: With your consent only, we enable the Meta Pixel in your browser and use the Conversions API for personalised ad measurement. When you consent to marketing cookies, we may also send standard event data (page views, checkout initiations) to help us show relevant ads to people similar to our customers. You can opt out of Meta ad personalisation at facebook.com/settings.

If you have signed in with Facebook, Meta shares limited profile data with our authentication provider, Clerk, for login purposes only. This is separate from advertising measurement.

Meta processes all data it receives under their own privacy policy.

Email communications
We send transactional and service emails (purchase confirmations, access notifications, material policy changes) to all registered users as necessary to operate the service. These are not optional.

We also offer optional marketing communications. The opt-in checkbox is unchecked by default at account creation. If you opt in, we may send occasional emails about new content, learning science, or product improvements. You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing hello@klarityofmind.com with the subject "Unsubscribe." We will action your request within five business days.

Consultation enquiries
If you contact us to book a personal consultation, we collect your name, email, and any information you share. This is used solely to provide the consultation.

Legal bases for processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases:

Contractual necessity — your account data, purchase records, and course access information are processed to fulfil our agreement with you.

Legitimate interests — we process anonymised analytics to improve the product, balancing this against your privacy rights by using consent-gated tools.

Consent— marketing cookies, advertising personalisation (Meta Pixel and related browser events), and marketing email communications are processed only with your explicit consent. You may withdraw consent at any time. Consent is recorded both in your browser's local storage and, where you are signed in, in your account record. If these are ever out of sync, your most recent action takes precedence.

Legal obligation — payment records are retained for 7 years as required by Singapore accounting regulations.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following processors, for the purposes described:

The specific provider used for any given request may vary. Each provider processes data under their own API terms and privacy policies. We have selected providers whose paid API terms do not permit using your data to train their models.

Vercel— hosting provider and database. All application data passes through Vercel's infrastructure. Tutor session data is stored in Vercel KV.

Google Analytics — with your consent, receives anonymised page view and engagement data.

Vercel Analytics — with your consent, receives anonymised page view and performance data.

We may disclose personal data if required to do so by law or by a competent authority.
