Cookie Policy

What are cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use browser local storage — a similar mechanism that stores data in your browser without an expiry date unless cleared manually. We use these technologies to keep you signed in, process payments securely, and — with your permission only — to understand how the platform is used and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising.

How we store your consent preference

When you make a choice on our cookie consent banner, your preference is saved in your browser's local storage (not as a cookie) under the key klarity_cookie_consent. This means your preference persists across visits on the same browser and device. To reset your preference, clear your browser's local storage or site data and reload the page — the consent banner will reappear.

Strictly necessary

These are required for the platform to work and cannot be disabled. They enable authentication (including email/password and social sign-in), payment processing, and core platform functionality. If you use Continue with Facebook or Continue with Google, your browser briefly visits those providers as part of the secure sign-in redirect. Those providers may set short-lived cookies on their own domains to complete authentication — these are not used for our marketing.

Analytics (consent required)

With your consent, we use Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics to understand which parts of the platform students find most useful and where we can improve. Data is aggregated and anonymised — it cannot identify individual users.

Marketing (consent required)

With your consent, we use the Meta Pixel on klarityofmind.com to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to help show relevant ads to people who might benefit from Klarity of Mind. This is separate from using Facebook to sign in. You can use Facebook login without accepting marketing cookies. Marketing cookies are not activated unless you explicitly consent. We also use Meta's Conversions API — a server-side measurement tool — to send purchase and registration events to Meta when you consent to marketing cookies. This involves sending hashed identifiers (your email address, hashed with SHA-256) from our server to Meta's servers. No plaintext email address is sent. Meta processes advertising data under their own privacy policy. You can manage your Meta ad preferences at facebook.com/settings.

Your choices

When you first visit, we ask for your cookie and tracking preferences. You can accept all, decline optional technologies, or choose by category. To change your preferences after your initial choice: clear your browser's local storage for klarityofmind.com and reload the page. The consent banner will reappear. You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all sites at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and manage Meta ad preferences at facebook.com/settings.

Third-party AI model providers

When you use AI-powered features on Klarity of Mind, the text you submit is sent to our AI model providers (currently Google and Anthropic) to generate a response. This is a data transfer, not a cookie. It is not controlled by your cookie preferences. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
